1:09 on the clock: “it might be… time”

On Roaring Kitty's 7 June 2024 livestream, the clock in the top-right corner of his screen turned from 1:08 to 1:09pm ET 44:36 into the video, as he said “I'm going to wait … we'll wait”; still at 1:09, he said “where's that eject button, it might be time, it might be…” and, after a pause of almost seven seconds, “time”.

Video timestamps from the YouTube upload: 44:26 “what should we have for dinner”; 44:33 to 44:40 “I'm going to wait, I'm going to wait, we'll wait, so we table it”; 44:47 “plant some seeds, let's think about it”; 44:57 “where's that eject button, it might be time, it might be”, then at 45:06 “time. Am I okay?”. His Yahoo Finance page showed GME around 29, down about 38% on the day, with “U.S. markets close in 2h 51m”. Moments later he says “I'm clearly cuckoo”, and at 46:05 “we're gonna end the stream”, then “let's restart it”.

The community's read

Six months later, on 5 December 2024, Roaring Kitty posted an edited TIME cover with an old Mac and the times 1:09 and 4:20 on it; the community links the 1:09 on that cover to the 1:09 on his stream clock when he said “time”.
